Increase in Wage Ceiling Limit – Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948

This is to inform you that the Ministry of Labour and Employment has issued Final Amendment Notification - G.S.R. 1166(E) “Employees’ State Insurance (Central) Third Amendment Rules, 2016”, increasing the Wage Ceiling Limit under Rule 50 of Employees’ State Insurance (Central) Rules, 1950, from rupees 15000 to 21000 with effect from 1^st January 2017.

Hence, from the effective date, all employees earning wages upto Rs 21000.00 will be covered under the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948
